At the Farthest Edge: Rebuilding Photography

03.06 - 30.07

The exhibition At the Farthest Edge: Rebuilding Photography draws on Bodø's history as a city of continuous architectural change and renewal since the bombing of World War II. The exhibition brings together photography, sculpture and installation to explore themes of architecture, construction and reinvention. The photograph will be considered as a document of performance art, and a visual insight into sculptural play and reconfiguration.

Alexander Mourant will show his latest work The Night and the First Sculpture (2021), a series of reconfigured installations of farmyard materials that are rephotographed, together with new sculptures made with materials from Bodø; Bart Lunenburg will exhibit existing and new works from The Healer (2021-ongoing), made with Norwegian timber and through Scandinavian and Viking techniques of woodwork and weaving on an inkle loom; Jan McCullough will exhibit Constructions (2019), photographs of sculptures made with large rolls of paper, and a collection of collage sketchbooks (2014-2022).
