Film screenings and talks

On 21 April 1972, section 213 of the Norwegian Penal Code, which prohibited sexual acts between men, was repealed. To mark this, NŌUA and dissemination- and production company Flokk film, have joined forces for a celebration to communicate and discuss queer art, culture and history through film screenings, photography, talks and togetherness.

Wednesday 4th May:
Flokk film welcomes everyone at NŌUA, and tells about the events of Queer Culture Year.

Film screening of Hjartasteinn (2016) by Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson.

Thursday 5th May:
Art historian Jakob Myklebust Huus have written about Norwegian museums thematizations of queerness through photographs. Huus will talk about both Norwegian and international examples of queer photo art.

Film screening of Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures (2016) by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato.

Friday 6th May:
Film screening of Hva er en kvinne? (What is a woman?) (2020) and afterwords we talk with the director Marin Håskjold who will be visiting.

After this NŌUA have their regular «after work bar».

All the events are free.
